The candidate that wants teaching job in the State of Illinois will have to be a graduate of an approved teaching program that is approved by the State Teacher Certification Board. That approved program can be from the State of Illinois of from another state. The courses in that program have to be defined so that the candidate for certification can be properly placed within the grade level that they want to teach or that they have an interest in. Recommendation for certification of the applicant is made by the institution after all of the requirements have been met.
